Job summary

Positive Futures Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to support young adults with learning disabilities in a specialist FE setting. You will help students develop independence, confidence and employability skills across residential, vocational and classroom contexts.

The role involves term-time hours with additional days and training, a two-week rota including weekends, and sleep-ins paid at £65 per shift. Prior experience and appropriate qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in education, care or similar environments (desirable).
• Understanding of supporting individuals with disabilities (desirable).
• Flexibility to work weekends and sleep-ins (desirable).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (desirable).
• Level 3 Education or Care qualification (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support students in learning, practical activities and daily living skills.
• Encourage confidence, independence and personal achievement.
• Assist with communication, self-advocacy and social development.
• Support life skills like cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, teamwork and presentation.
• Provide one-to-one support where required.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
• Support positive behaviour and wellbeing.
