Job summary

Positive Futures Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to assist students with learning, daily living skills and personal development in a specialist further education setting in the UK.

You will work across residential, vocational, and classroom environments, promoting independence and confidence, with a two-week rota including alternate weekends and sleep-ins. Salary is £12.87-£13.40 per hour plus £65 sleep-in shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within education, care, support work, or a similar environment.
• Understanding of supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
• Level 3 qualification in Education or Care.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support students in learning, practical activities, and daily living skills.

• Assist students with communication, self-advocacy, and social development.
• Support the development of life skills including cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Job description

Learning Support Practitioner

Salary: £12.87 - £13.40 p/h (£21,622 - £22,512 per annum) - depending on experience and qualifications plus £65 per sleep-in shift.

Hours: 40 per week - Term time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)

Additional Information: Shift work is required, including weekends and sleep-ins. Sleep-in shifts are paid at a flat rate of £65, in addition to your annual salary.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and socially. Working closely with teachers, tutors, and residential staff, you'll help create positive learning experiences while promoting independence and personal development.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a two-week rota and includes alternate weekends.

Typical shifts include:

• 7:00am - 3:00pm
• 10:00am - 6:00pm
• 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Sleep-in shifts are also required and are paid at an additional rate of £65 per sleep-in.
