Job summary

Education Learning Trust in Greater Manchester is seeking a Learning Support Intervention Assistant to join the SEND team. You will provide targeted academic and emotional support 1:1 or in small groups to pupils with additional needs.

Under the direction of the SENDCo and teaching staff, you will help pupils access the curriculum, foster independence, and promote inclusive practice while safeguarding their wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEND setting.
• Patient, caring, and understanding of learners with additional needs.
• Ability to follow intervention plans and adapt to changing needs.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Proactive and committed to making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Take a key role in assisting and supplementing the work of teaching staff to support pupils with learning difficulties and enable maximum access to the curriculum.
• Support 1:1 or small groups to improve academic and emotional outcomes for learners.
• Promote and develop the inclusive nature of the school.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students with SEND moving around the school.
