Job summary

Oakmoor School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to contribute to students' development and well-being by supporting teaching and learning in the classroom. You will provide general and specific assistance to pupils under the direction of the class teacher, helping with resources and learning activities.

You will monitor progress, support social and emotional development, and participate in meetings and training as required to uphold safeguarding policies and school procedures.

Qualifications

• Support students one-to-one or in small groups under the guidance of the teaching staff.
• Assist with learning activities and the preparation, maintenance and adaptation of resources.
• Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to teachers in line with academy procedures.
• Assist with general administrative tasks as required by line management.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required by the academy.

Responsibilities

• Support students on an individual or small group basis to understand instructions and complete activities.
• Encourage independent learning and inclusion to ensure progression.
• Support students' social and emotional well-being and provide positive feedback.
• Report problems to the teacher or safeguarding as appropriate.
• Monitor learning responses and record basic student data as required.
• Contribute to intervention programmes and pupil plans as identified by SEN codes of practice.
