Job summary

Derby College Group is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Trainer to join the Student Experience and Pastoral team at The Roundhouse. You will provide tailored support to help students build confidence, independence and skills for the future, including developing individual support plans with staff and families.

The role involves working closely with teachers, families and external agencies, with potential personal care where needed and a commitment to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting students or willingness to learn.
• Understanding of additional learning needs and SEND Code of Practice.
• Ability to respond positively to challenging situations.
• Level 2 English and maths and Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid training or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse needs.
• Develop and implement individual support plans with teaching staff and families.
• Support students' social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Assist with collaboration with external agencies; may include personal care when required.
