Job summary

The Cambridge-based college is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help learners overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. You will provide classroom-based and one-to-one support, including for learners with SEND, EHCPs, and additional learning needs, working closely with teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting learners in education or care settings.
• Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to students in classroom and workshop environments.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions.
• Support learners with SEND and EHCP requirements.
• Encourage engagement, confidence, independence and progression.
• Assist with note-taking, literacy, numeracy and study skills.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement learning support strategies.
• Monitor student progress and maintain records as required.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and learner success.
• Follow safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety procedures.
