Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant in Stockport to join a specialist education setting for children with complex needs. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, helping students access education, develop life skills and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff, contributing to a calm, structured classroom and promoting independence while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

  • Experience within education, healthcare, residential care, support work, or youth work.
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

Setting: Specialist Education Provision - Complex Learning Needs, Autism, Communication Difficulties & Physical Disabilities

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an outstanding specialist education provider in Stockport to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their experienced and supportive team.

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Complex communication needs

The Role

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students access education, develop life skills, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.

What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

  • Experience within education, healthcare, residential care, support work, or youth work
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • An understanding of autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, or complex needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive, proactive, and caring approach
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
