Job summary

Affinity Partnerships, L.L.C. is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for an OFSTED Outstanding special school in the West of England region. The role is full-time, term-time only, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, supporting pupils aged 3 to 19 with autism and complex needs.

You will work with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress and promote safeguarding and wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in learning, childcare, nursing or similar setting.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable).
• Experience with Health & Safety, safeguarding and child welfare regulations.
• Experience in SEN, care work, support work, childcare or education.
• Confident supporting autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support learning activities and IEPs.
• Promote communication, emotional regulation and independence.
• Support behaviour management and maintain a safe environment.
• Provide personal care, hygiene, and welfare support.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Support assessment, record-keeping and pupil progress.
• Deliver specialist interventions and therapy programmes.
• Always promote safeguarding and wellbeing.
