Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is currently seeking an enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant to work across Hull schools. In this role you will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, help with classwork and activities, and contribute to an inclusive, safe learning environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with children or young people, strong communication skills, and a patient, encouraging manner.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in educational or youth settings is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
A patient, approachable and encouraging manner is important.
An Enhanced DBS on update service is preferred or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help improve learning and achievement.
Assist pupils with classwork, homework and learning activities.
Support pupils with barriers to learning and help develop confidence and independence.
Collaborate with teachers to implement individual learning and support strategies.
Encourage positive attitudes toward learning, attendance and personal development.
Monitor pupils' engagement, progress and behaviour and provide feedback to staff.
Maintain professional boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
Support classroom activities and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment.
Contribute to interventions that aim to improve academic, social and emotional development.
