Job summary

Protocol Education is assisting a fantastic SEND school in the Upminster/Rainham area to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start. You will work with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, communication and sensory challenges, in and out of the classroom.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, a good understanding of autism, and be patient, caring, and adaptable.

Qualifications

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Have a good understanding of Autism and communication needs.
  • Be patient, caring, and adaptable.
  • Be confident supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and additional medical needs.
  • Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

Learning Support Assistant – SEND School – Upminster/Rainham | Immediate Start

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential?

We are working with a fantastic SEND school in the Upminster/Rainham area that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their specialist team immediately.

The school supports pupils with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, medical syndromes, and physical and sensory needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil receives tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You may provide 1:1 support or work with small groups, helping students with their communication, social development, sensory regulation, and engagement in learning activities.

The ideal candidate will:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
