Job summary

Protocol Education is assisting a fantastic SEND school in the Upminster/Rainham area to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start. You will work with teachers and therapists to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, communication and sensory challenges, in and out of the classroom.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, a good understanding of autism, and be patient, caring, and adaptable.

Qualifications

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Have a good understanding of Autism and communication needs.
• Be patient, caring, and adaptable.
• Be confident supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and additional medical needs.
• Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils both in and out of the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 support or work with small groups.
• Help students with communication, social development, sensory regulation and engagement in learning activities.
