Job summary

Protocol Education in Witham is seeking an entry-level Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to join a Special Needs school. You will support pupils with a range of needs, including autism and SLD, in a caring, respectful environment.

No prior experience is required; full training and DBS checks are provided. You will work 8:30am-3:30pm five days a week, helping to inspire and build rapport with each student while ensuring safe and supportive learning.

Qualifications

• Passionate about supporting children and vulnerable adults with special needs.
• Willing to complete required safeguarding and training.
• A friendly, positive approach and ability to build relationships quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities and personal care as needed.
• Support communication for non-verbal students and help with classroom routines.

Protocol Education are looking to recruit a learning support assistant/teaching assistant to join a Special Needs school in Witham.

The students that attend the school have a variety of special needs, including Autism and SLD. Therefore, personal care is required as part of this role. Many of the students are non-verbal, so strong communication is also important. A strong desire to assist in this area is required, but no experience is necessary!

All staff work to inspire, motivate, challenge and support each pupil, no matter what their individual needs may be. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, as well as the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with individual children is important.

This is a long-term, full-time position so we are looking for candidates to be available 5 days a week between the hours of 8:30am-15:30pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
