Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Secondary) to join a well-regarded school in Hounslow, West London. This role offers daily pay of £110-£120 and an immediate start for a dedicated candidate.

You will work with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional needs across key stages, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant in a secondary school is desirable.
• Warm, patient, and nurturing approach with commitment to pupils.
• Understanding of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to pupils with additional needs on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis.
• Work with class teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCPs and individual support plans.
• Assist in adapting and differentiating learning materials for individual pupils.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development alongside academic progress.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider school team.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and the SENCO regularly.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and transitions as required.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times.

About the Role:

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs across secondary year groups, helping them to access the curriculum, engage with learning and develop greater independence both inside and outside the classroom.

About You:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school setting - desirable
• A warm, patient and nurturing approach with a genuine commitment to supporting young people
• Understanding of a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and pupil needs with confidence and flexibility
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all pupils
