Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Secondary) to join a well-regarded school in Hounslow, West London. This full-time role offers £110-£120 per day, dependent on experience, with an immediate start.

You will support pupils across year groups, assisting with access to the curriculum and promoting inclusive learning in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school is desirable.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Good safeguarding awareness and commitment to pupil well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to pupils 1:1, in small groups and for whole-class learning.
  • Work with class teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCPs and individual plans.
  • Adapt and differentiate learning materials to meet pupil needs.
  • Support social, emotional and behavioural development alongside academic progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Monitor pupil progress and feed back to teachers and SENCO regularly.
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and transitions as required.
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.

Learning Support Assistant (Secondary) - Hounslow
Full Time Position Immediate Start Available
Location: Hounslow, West London
Salary: £110-£120 per day, dependent on experience

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a well-regarded secondary school in the London Borough of Hounslow. About the Role:

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs across secondary year groups, helping them to access the curriculum, engage with learning and develop greater independence both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-class support to pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCPs and individual support plans
  • Assist in adapting and differentiating learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development alongside their academic progress
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, staff and the wider school team
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and the SENCO regularly
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and transitions as required
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times
About You:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school setting - desirable
  • A warm, patient and nurturing approach with a genuine commitment to supporting young people
  • Understanding of a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and pupil needs with confidence and flexibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred but not essential
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all pupils
