Job summary

Kingswode Hoe School in Colchester is seeking an enthusiastic HLTA to join our MLD specialist team on a part-time basis. You will support pupils aged 5-16 with complex needs and contribute to a pupil-centred, forward-thinking staff environment.

We provide training, mentoring and opportunities to develop skills in areas such as PE and outdoor learning, with a proactive, collaborative team dedicated to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Must have English and Maths qualification, at least GCSE grade C, or equivalent.
• Experience leading learning sessions.
• Confident meeting additional complex needs.
• Proactive and positive with people.
• Good communicator and collaborator.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning sessions under supervision and support pupil learning.
• Provide high-quality learning support to pupils aged 5–16 with MLD and complex needs.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a pupil-centred, supportive environment.

Information about the School

Kingswode Hoe is a special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties. We take pupils aged between 5 and 16 (Y1 - Y11) living in the Colchester area. All pupils are admitted to the school by the Statutory Assessment team of Essex Local Authority based at Essex House in Colchester. We are currently funded for 151 places.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
