Farleigh School is seeking a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team, to work within our vibrant and well-resourced Prep school. The role involves supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop independence and thrive academically,

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will establish positive and effective working relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• The capacity to understand students' needs to support learning and development.
• Commitment to participate in all areas of school life.
• Commitment to undertake additional training to support student needs.
• Experience in an educational setting.
• Ability to adapt practice to support pupils with SEND needs.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (desirable).
• Qualification as HLTA/LSA/ELSA/TEFL or Speech and Language assistant (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND and emotional wellbeing needs under guidance of teachers.
• Assist with Individual Education Plans and targeted learning activities.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development and independence.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and report to teachers.
• Encourage inclusion and positive interactions with peers.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and school policies at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to provide support.
