Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in Brentwood and surrounding areas. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, help with learning activities and support children with learning needs and SEND.

We are looking for caring, patient and adaptable individuals who can work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Previous classroom experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in educational or care settings.
• Experience in schools, SEND, care, or youth work is preferred.
• Patient, resilient and approachable with strong communication.
• Able to support learning, behaviour management and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support learning and classroom activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Assist with lessons and activities for SEND students.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive engagement.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Follow individual education and behaviour plans when required.
