Job summary

Pathway Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND team at St Andrew's CofE VC Junior School in Burnham-on-Sea. You will support pupils with planned, supervised activities and help them engage confidently in lessons.

The role involves resource preparation, record-keeping and close collaboration with teachers, families and carers. We value warmth, initiative and commitment to inclusive education.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly SEN.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing needs.
  • Strong communication skills with students, families and staff.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or Level 2 equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to pupils under teacher supervision.
  • Assist with resource preparation, display creation and pupil care.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and liaise with parents and staff.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and promote welfare of children and young people.

This is an exciting opportunity within our SEND team, with the aim of supporting our students by enabling them to engage confidently and independently in their learning.**Main duties and responsibilities include:*** Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers.* Support colleagues by assisting with resource preparation, display and care and support of pupils including health care.* Keep records of work in order to provide feedback and general support.* Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues, parents, carers and third parties when necessary.**About you**You're someone who brings warmth, initiative and a deep commitment to inclusive education.
