Job summary

The Redstart Primary School in Chard, Somerset, is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support designated pupils within a warm, inclusive classroom. You will assist teachers with learning activities and student development under supervision.

The role is fixed term until 31 August 2027, 8 hours per week during term time, with opportunities for professional development within the CLF network and a supportive team environment.

Support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum, engage with their learning and achieve their full potential. Takes responsibility for implementing planned learning activities/ teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to students’ responses as appropriate. Deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being.
