Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a residential SEN setting in the Godstone area. The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:00, term-time only, with a guaranteed contract until July 2027 and a daily rate of £88–£110.

This full-time position supports students aged 6–16 with SEMH/ASC needs, delivering group and individual activities and close collaboration with teaching staff. On-site parking and progression opportunities accompany a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.
• Have an understanding of the students with special needs.
• Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.
• Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.
• The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
• Be flexible in their approach to education.
• Have experience working in SEND settings.
• Experience working with children is essential.

Responsibilities

• To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher.
• To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher.
• To work individually with learners/students to develop work.
• To support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school.
• To monitor and evaluate learners' learning under the guidance of the teacher.
• To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning.
• To support all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas.

Learning Support Assistant needed

£88-£110 a day

Long term/ contract role- Guaranteed until July 2027

Within the Godstone area the school is set in its own beautiful grounds. The residential special school caters for students with a range of SEN needs and has a fully enhanced curriculum. The aim of the school is to help the individual's access and progress with their independence. The school provides a fantastic holistic approach to education encompassing teaching and learning with a therapy input.

This specialised school is a non-maintained residential special school, designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs of children (age 6-16 years). The children have a range of special needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

The school is looking for a full time learning support assistant who is willing to make a difference and can engage students in their primary unit.

Hours: Monday-Friday 08:30-4pm

This is a term time only role.
