Job summary

Aberporth Primary School in Wales seeks a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join the support team on a fixed-term basis starting July. You will assist the class teacher with learning activities, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help deliver intervention programmes within the school’s universal provision.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Support primary pupils in the classroom, including those with learning difficulties.
• Work under the direction of the class teacher to assist with learning and development activities.
• Provide individual or small group support to improve understanding and progress.
• Assist with implementing intervention programmes as part of the school’s universal provision.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development in a safe and inclusive environment.
• Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation
• Ensure safeguarding and health and safety policies are followed at all times.
