Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) on a full-time basis to work in a local primary school in Penarth, Wales. The role supports the class teacher in helping pupils learn, engage, and access the national curriculum in a mainstream setting.

You will work with children across all year groups, provide 1:1 support for those with learning difficulties, and assist small groups in reading and writing activities.

Qualifications

• DBS check via update service.
• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Provide at least 2 references.
• Willing to complete safeguarding and other CPD courses.
• Passion for education and creating a positive learning environment.
• Available full time, Monday to Friday.
• Reliable and consistent staff member.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with daily routines and activities.
• Work with small groups to support reading and writing.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with learning difficulties.
• Foster social and emotional development of young learners.
• Collaborate to plan and deliver engaging lessons and resources.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Uphold school policies and ensure pupil wellbeing and safety.

• Full time Monday to Friday role with weekends off
• Daily rate of pay £92.56 - £110 per day + additional benefits

Vision for education are looking to employ a learning support assistant on a full-time basis to work in a local primary school in Penarth.

The role of a learning support assistant is to support the class teacher in helping pupils learn, engage and get the most out of their learning in school. You will be based in a mainstream primary school, supporting children of all primary ages to access the national curriculum.

Requirements

• As part of the learning support assistant role you will need a DBS registered with the update service (support with this process can be provided)
• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register

Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:

• Assist the class teacher with daily routines and activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment
• Work with small groups of pupils, offering additional support for reading and writing activities
• Support pupils with learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis
• Foster the development of social and emotional skills in young learners
• Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons and learning resources
• Assist with monitoring and recording pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where necessary
• Uphold the school's policies and values, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils
