Job summary

Riverside School in Beverley, England, seeks a friendly Teaching Assistant to support pupils and teachers across our age range. You will provide whole class, small group, and one-to-one support to help children engage with learning activities.

You will work with a dedicated team, build positive relationships, and may undertake training such as Team Teach, First Aid, and safeguarding courses. Fixed term, permanent, full-time, and part-time contracts available.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education including Maths and English.
• Experience with children with SEND would be advantageous.
• Willingness to undertake Team Teach training and attend First Aid, Safer Assistance, MIDAS/Minibus training when appropriate.

Job description

The successful candidate will support teachers and pupils in all aspects of school life. You will provide whole class, small group and one to one support to encourage and develop skills so children can achieve full participation in learning activities. You will work with a dedicated and dynamic team to help support pupils in accessing teaching and learning and could be working in any class across our age range. To start as soon as all safeguarding recruitment checks are complete, we are seeking a friendly and caring person who can establish positive working relationships with children and adults. You will have a good standard of general education including Maths and English. Experience with children with SEND would be advantageous. You will be willing to undertake further training to develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of how to work most effectively with pupils who have a diverse range of needs These include a willingness to undertake Team teach training (Child Restraint for children with SEN) and attend First Aid, Safer Assistance (Moving and Handling), Hydrotherapy Pool support courses & MIDAS/Minibus training, if appropriate. We expect all staff to share the school's commitment of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. You will need a good level of personal fitness and be in good health to engage with our students.
