Shrewsbury College in Shropshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with students who have Education Health and Care Plans, providing 1:1 or small group support and adapting learning to individual needs while promoting inclusion, respect, independence and a safe working environment.
This is a term-time, permanent post based at Welsh Bridge, English Bridge or London Road campuses, with a pro rata salary of £25,159 to £26,818 per annum.
Shrewsbury College is Shropshire's largest college, teaching 16-18-year-olds and adults at three campuses in the town of Shrewsbury. We deliver a broad range of vocational and higher-level courses to 2500 16-18-year-olds, 4000 adult students, 300 HE students and 950 apprentices at our London Road campus, and 2100 students are taught A Levels and Art courses at our Welsh and English Bridge campuses in the centre of Shrewsbury. The college was inspected in March 2025 and judged to be 'Outstanding', with a 'Strong' contribution to skills. The college was recognised as a top 10 employer by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 and enjoys 'outstanding' financial health. We have enrolled a record number of students in 2026-27, and have secured £10m of government funding to support new capital projects to expand our construction and science facilities.

Salary: £25,159 - £26,818 p.a. pro rata. Various hours available. Term time. Permanent. Based at any of Welsh Bridge, English Bridge or London Road campus.

As this is a term time position, the salary is prorated. The approximate annual salary (for 37 hours at £25,159) is £21,213 to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
