Job summary

Lindens Academy, part of the Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust in Streetly, West Midlands, invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant. This is a temporary post linked to funding.

The role supports pupils with complex medical needs and disabilities in a mainstream setting, with duties including personal care, assisting access to learning, and working with teachers, therapists, and other staff to promote inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with additional needs.
• Minimum Level 2 qualification recognised by the DfE for Early Years, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities in the classroom and academy environment.
• Assist pupils to access learning activities and adapt support to meet individual needs.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect as required.
• Be willing to undertake manual handling training and use specialist equipment when necessary.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high-quality support.
• Promote inclusion, independence and wellbeing for all pupils.
• Facilitate Physical Management plans as part of the provision.
