Job summary

Lindens Academy in Streetly is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with complex medical needs and disabilities. The role is term-time, with 39 weeks/year, and involves assisting learning activities, personal care, and teamwork with teachers and therapists.

The post is funded through a temporary arrangement; starts November 2026 with interviews on 5 October. A Level 2 Early Years qualification (DfE recognised) or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with additional needs.
• Minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification recognised by DfE, or equivalent meeting England requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities in the classroom and wider academy.
• Assist pupils to access learning activities, adapting support to meet individual needs.
• Provide personal care where required throughout the day with dignity and respect.
• Receive manual handling training to safely transfer and move pupils using specialist equipment when necessary.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high-quality support.
• Promote inclusion, independence and wellbeing for all pupils.
• Facilitate Physical Management plans as part of the provision.
