Lindens Academy, part of the Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a Learning Mentor at Level 3 Teaching Assistant level. You will work with pupils, teachers and families to support learning, behaviour, attendance and emotional wellbeing.

The role involves leading interventions, supporting safeguarding and delivering targeted support for children with a range of needs in a 3–11 setting.

About this Role

The Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust wish to appoint a compassionate,dedicated, and proactive Learning Mentor to join Lindens Academy. The successfulcandidate will work closely with pupils, teachers, parents and externalagencies to support pupils' learning, behaviour, attendance and emotionalwellbeing, helping every child to achieve their full potential.

Thisrole is equivalent to a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, requiring a proactive individual who canwork independently, lead interventions and provide targeted support forchildren with a range of needs.

Lindens Academy isa mainstream setting with an Additional Resource Provision for supportingpupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. This is a temporary post linked to funding.

MainResponsibilities (see attached job description for further details):
  • Provide mentoring and pastoral support to individual pupils and small groups.
  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support academic achievement, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work with teachers to identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement in learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and external professionals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to review meetings.
  • Support safeguarding and child protection procedures in line with school policies.
  • Assist teachers with planning and delivering learning activities where appropriate.
We are looking for an individual with
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with primary-aged children.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management and pupil wellbeing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with children and families.
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and raising achievement for all pupils.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
