Job summary

Lindens Academy, part of the Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust in Streetly, West Midlands, invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant. This is a temporary post linked to funding.

The role supports pupils with complex medical needs and disabilities in a mainstream setting, with duties including personal care, assisting access to learning, and working with teachers, therapists, and other staff to promote inclusion.

Qualifications

Contract Type: Full time - Linked to Funding

Contract Term: Term time, plus 5 training days (39 weeks)

Grade/Salary: G4 Points 7-11, 31.25 hours per week (30-minute lunch break)

About this Role

The Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust wishes to appoint a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join Lindens Academy. Lindens Academy is a mainstream setting with an Additional Resource Provision for supporting pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. This is a temporary post linked to funding.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities in both the classroom and wider academy environment.
  • Assist pupils to access learning activities, adapting support to meet individual needs.
  • Provide personal care where required throughout the day with dignity and respect.
  • Be willing to receive additional manual handling training to support the safe transfer and movement of pupils, including using specialist equipment when necessary.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high-quality support.
  • Promote inclusion, independence and wellbeing for all pupils.
  • Facilitate Physical Management plans as part of the provision.
We are looking for an individual with
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification which is a Department for Education (DfE) recognised Early Years qualification, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience that meets the approved Early Years requirements in England.

Further vetting checks, in line with the requirements of Keeping children safe in education 2025 will be completed following a provisional offer of appointment. Where applicable, if an applicant with a provisional offer of employment has lived and/or worked outside the UK, they will be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct.
