Job summary

Education First Sutton is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Sutton. This role supports pupils, delivers 1:1 and small group sessions, and helps learners access the curriculum within a inclusive classroom setting.

The position is full-time, five days a week, with a daily rate of £120 and ongoing support from Education First consultants. You will collaborate with teachers to foster positive pupil engagement and safeguarding within the school.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring and supportive approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting different pupils.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in the classroom and during lessons.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support where required.
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and complete learning activities.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
• Helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Supporting pupils during break and lunch periods when required.
• Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
