Job summary

Education First Recruitment seeks a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Sutton on a long-term basis. You will support students with SEN, work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, and help students develop academically and personally.

The role requires patience, resilience and a passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning, with opportunities across London and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach to student support.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students in classroom and wider school settings.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and learning needs.
• Assist students with academic, social and emotional development.
• Support SEMH, ASD, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
• Deliver engaging lessons with teachers and differentiate learning activities.
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence and participation.
• Support behaviour management and help regulate emotions.
• Encourage independence and social skills.
