Job summary

Radford Primary Academy in Coventry invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant to support an individual child. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to implement learning programmes, help with SEN support, and ensure access to learning within the classroom and other teaching areas.

The role runs 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time plus five days. The appointment involves safeguarding responsibilities and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• NVQ 3 or above.
• Evidence of having worked with children in some capacity.
• Positive interest in working with children.
• Knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of legislation.
• General understanding of the National Curriculum and core learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils.
• Assist with managing the classroom and supporting the teacher as required.
• Support after school provision where needed.
