Job summary

Supply Desk seeks a caring Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Radlett area. You will support pupils across the primary age range with learning, participate in classroom activities and help pupils access the curriculum with a patient, nurturing approach.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, collaboration with teachers and staff, and ongoing development to promote pupil confidence and success. Competitive pay and continuous support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
• Positive behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Knowledge of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range with their learning and development.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support as required.
• Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Work alongside the class teacher to support lesson delivery and learning activities.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engage positively in school life.
• Monitor and communicate pupil progress and wellbeing to the class teacher and relevant staff.
• Adapt support approaches to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers and other professionals where appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
