Job summary

Radford Primary Academy in Coventry is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching staff and students. Under guidance, you will deliver care and learning activities, help with class management and provide support for pupils, including those with special educational needs.

The role may include after-school duties and requires calm, patient work with children, strong numeracy and literacy, and good interpersonal skills. Term-time, part-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• NVQ 3 or above.
• Evidence of having worked with children.
• Positive interest in working with children.
• Knowledge of policies/codes of practice and awareness of legislation.
• Ability to work calmly and with patience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake care and learning programmes to support individuals or groups.
• Assist the teacher in managing the class and activities.
• Support after-school provision.
