Job summary

St George is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work at our Newport site during term-time. The role involves 31.25 hours per week across 38 weeks, supporting students with High Needs/SEND across SEMH, medical, autism and complex behaviour, with mentoring on a 1-to-1 and small-group basis.

You will help plan and deliver engaging activities, and may undertake specialist training for complex medical interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with students who have High Needs/SEND in a specialist area (e.g., SEMH, Medical, Autism) and complex challenging behaviour.
• Demonstrate a high level of personal resilience.
• Strong safeguarding focus in practice.

Responsibilities

• 1-2-1 and small group mentoring with students.
• Support planning and delivery of activities within the area.
• Assist in implementing programmes and respond to complex medical interventions as needed.
