Job summary

Farndon Fields Primary School in Market Harborough is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join the dedicated teaching team. You will support pupils in EYFS and/or KS1, assisting with lessons and activities, and help create a positive, engaging learning environment.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), experience in a school setting, and strong communication skills. Benefits include flexible working and a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) requirement.
  • Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.

About this Role

Learning Support Assistant - 2 Positions Available


Farndon Fields Primary School


Salary: Grade 5 Pay Point 7-8 (£26,022- £26,436 per annum, approximate starting salary of £19,555.86 per annum)


Hours: 32.5 Hours per week; 39 Weeks per year


Contract Type: Fixed Term ending on 20 August 2027


Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30am to 15:30pm inclusive of 30 minutes of unpaid lunch break


Closing Date: 09:00am, 15th October 2026


Interviews: Week commencing 26th October 2026


Please Note: This role is based in EYFS and/or KS1 in the first year.

You will play a key role in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring all pupils can reach their full potential.

What We Are Looking For


  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) OR ability to meet STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards.
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to motivate and engage students.
