Job summary

Maltese Road Primary School in the Quantum Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team and support children in lessons and interventions. The post is term time only, 10.5 hours weekly, Tue–Thu 9:00–11:30 and Fri 9:00–12:00, with interviews on 28th September 2026.

A calm, patient, and supportive approach is essential. You will assist with routines, transitions, and the child’s social, emotional and learning needs, helping build confidence and independence

Qualifications

• Experience in a learning support role is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to support a child with ASD/ADHD and adapt strategies.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Support in lessons and run interventions with groups or individuals.
• Help maintain calm routines and manage transitions.
• Support emotional regulation, social interaction and sensory needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to plan and deliver activities.
