Job summary

John Watson School seeks kind, patient Teaching Assistants to join a supportive team. The role focuses on helping pupils with additional needs, delivering learning activities and participating in enrichment events such as swimming and horse riding.

Qualifications

  • Calm, patient and resilient demeanor with a supportive approach.
  • Team player with motivation to learn and develop.
  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or youth settings.
  • Ideally familiar with EHCPs or additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SLD, PMLD and ASD in class and across the school.
  • Assist with learning activities, therapy programmes and IEP targets.
  • Take part in enrichment activities (swimming, PE, community visits, horse riding).
  • Provide personal and intimate care where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams.
