Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Yate is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a part-time basis from September. The role focuses on supporting a pupil with complex behavioural and SEMH needs in and out of the classroom.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support, help with emotional regulation, and work closely with the SEND team and teachers to create a calm, structured environment. DBS and two years of references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Proven ability to build trust and rapport with pupils.
• Knowledge of strategies to support emotional regulation.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Helping the pupil engage with learning both in and out of the classroom.
• Working closely with teaching staff, the SEND team, and external professionals.
• Creating a predictable, supportive environment where the child can thrive.
