Job Description:

Newbold Verdon Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and effective Autism Unit - Learning Support Assistant.

Start Date: 26th August 2025

Contract: Fixed Term (initially)

Salary Details: Grade 5. This attracts a salary range of £24,408 to £24,795 per annum, awarded on a pro-rata basis. Your starting salary would be approximately £11,009.65 (Pay Point 7).

Hours of work: 19.5 hours per week, term-time only for an initial period of 12 months

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who will bring a sense of energy and passion to the role
  • Have a good level of general education - English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or above is essential
  • Be able to use their initiative to work independently and flexibly
  • Be a person with good interpersonal skills who can form positive relationships with both pupils and adults, and work effectively as part of a team
  • Be someone who is able to show empathy and flexibility towards the children in their care
