Job summary

An established educational institution is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their inclusion unit. Qualifications

  • Good Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ 2 or GCSE (A-C grades).

What is the job role?

Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to work in our inclusion unit

Supporting the educational and developmental needs of children with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis.

Ensuring that the children can integrate as fully as possible in the activities on offer in the classroom.

Running specific interventions and activities to assist the children's individual learning and social needs.

Supporting the children with the targets on their Educational Health and Care Plans.

The role will include supporting two nursery children and two Year 1 children with significant needs under the guidance of the class teacher/SEN HLTA/SENCo.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants should have:

  • Good Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ 2 or GCSE (A-C grades) in English and Maths
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent, Teaching Assistant
