Job summary

The Independent Schools Council is seeking a dedicated role focused on supporting pupils with special educational needs, primarily in Years 7 and 8, both in the classroom and via small group interventions.

The post involves working closely with the Director of Pupil Progress (SENDCo), teaching staff, senior leadership, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

  • Help pupils access learning, build confidence and independence, and complete tasks in lessons.
  • Deliver targeted group interventions or provide individual support to assist with assessments or learning tasks.
  • Work with classroom teachers to support pupils in completing specific tasks and developing confidence and independence.
  • Support a culture of resilient, confident, and happy learners aligned with the department’s aims.
  • Coordinate with staff across the school to support pupils with SEND.
