Job summary

Brooklands College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work collaboratively in supporting learners 1:1 or in small groups across various curriculum levels. The role includes using effective strategies for literacy and numeracy, supporting students during exams, and maintaining careful records of the support provided.

You will need qualifications in English and Maths at level 2, and a relevant LSA qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners in class 1:1 or in small groups.
• Understanding of Additional Learning Support function.
• Willingness to take a relevant LSA qualification is a distinct advantage.

Job description

As Learning Support Assistant, you will work as part of a team of LSAs. Your role will include:

• Support learners in class 1:1 or in small groups, working at a range of levels from entry level to L3 across all curriculum
• Use strategies to help students with reading, writing and maths skills
• Support students during their exams
• Keep careful records of all LSA support provided

To fulfil the role of Learning Support Assistant you will have

• English & Maths level 2
• A relevant LSA qualification or willingness to take one a distinct advantage
• Good IT, numeracy, oral and written communication skills
• A sound understanding of the purpose of the Additional Learning Support function
