Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Berkshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with additional learning needs in college settings. This is a long-term temporary role with an immediate start, paid hourly.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, help remove barriers to learning, support progress and personal development, and work with teachers on learning plans. A Level 2 in English and Maths and recent SEND experience are required, with safeguarding awareness.

Qualifications

• Level 2 minimum in English and Maths.
• Recent experience supporting people with additional learning needs.
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, BSL.
• Calm, patient, and caring personality.
• Empathy and ability to motivate learners.
• Team player and collaborative mindset.
• Computer literate.
• Note taking ability for students.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Salary Range: £14.24 - £17 per hour

We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join on a long-term temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with potential for further opportunities.

In this role, you will:

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Level 2 minimum in English and Maths
• Recent and demonstrable experience of supporting people with additional learning needs.
• Experience working with ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, BSL
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• Ability to operate with empathy and the ability to motivate others
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Computer literate
• Able to work independently using own initiative
• Able to note take for students
• A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
