Learning Support Assistant - Make a Real Difference in SEN Education

Tradewind Recruitment in Whitstable is working with a number of specialist SEN schools across Thanet who are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join their teams. These schools support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, moderate learning difficulties, complex needs and associated behavioural challenges.

The Role

• Support pupils with their learning, communication and personal development
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging classroom activities
• Provide emotional and behavioural support where required
• Help students develop confidence, resilience and independence
• Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring they feel safe, valued and included
• Work as part of a dedicated team of teachers, therapists and support staff
