Job summary

Balfor Recruitment is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Southend-on-Sea, supporting pupils with SEMH and SEN needs. Qualifications

  • Level 2/3 Award in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent.
  • Degree in Psychology or Education – ideal.
  • Experience as an SEMH/SEN Learning Support Assistant – essential.
  • Empathy & understanding – nurturing, patient approach.
  • Strong behavioural management – calm under pressure, supportive and consistent.
  • Adaptability & resilience – meet varied needs across schools.
  • Excellent communication with pupils, staff and families.

Responsibilities

Are you a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant with a background working in SEMH and SEN settings looking for your next exciting opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a thriving all through specialist educational setting in Southend-on-Sea. This is a full-time, ongoing position as a Learning Support Assistant, an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school aims to provide safe, meaningful, relevant, appropriate and stimulating learning opportunities that prepare all their students for their future lives.
