Job summary

The Bedfordshire Schools Trust (BEST) is seeking a Learning Support Assistant at Samuel Whitbread Academy. You will join a large, welcoming team and support pupils with SEN within mainstream lessons, helping them access learning and participate confidently.

Hours are 30 per week during term time, with 5 pro rata training days. Candidates should have GCSEs at grade 4/C in Maths and English and demonstrate excellent communication and resilience.

JOB TITLE: Learning Support Assistant

BASED AT: Samuel Whitbread Academy

SALARY/GRADE RANGE: NJC Scale 2A Points 3-4 (FTE £25,614 - £26,016 pro rata; actual £18,083 - £18,367)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of ASC Provision & Learning Support / SENCO

HOURS: 30.00 hours per week, term-time only including 5 pro rata designated staff training days.

We expect our Learning Support Assistants to have excellent communication skills and be confident in a classroom setting. The successful candidate will have Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English at GCSE level. The main focus of the role is to support students with SEN in mainstream lessons.
