Job summary

Easton Academy is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join The Meadow resource base, supporting pupils with autism and speech development. You will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and monitor progress within a supportive, inclusive environment.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, safeguarding knowledge, and a nurturing attitude. Fixed-term, 19.5 hours weekly, term-time with salary aligned to JG4 SCP7-11 scale.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Condition
  • Experience communicating with non-verbal children or those early in language development
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities
  • High expectations of themselves and all children with ability to engage in fun activities
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
  • Understanding behavioural needs of children with ASC and how to adapt support
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Positive can-do attitude and nurturing nature
  • Hold Level 2 qualifications as a minimum

  • Experience of planning and delivering learning activities

  • Understanding ofthe behavioural needs of children with ASC andhow to adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs

The Meadow

The Meadow is aResource Base supporting 12 pupils ranging from Year 1 to Year 3 who have an Education,Healthand Care Plan (EHCP) for a primary need of Autism or Speech Language and Communication. Our priority is to ensure that pupils in The Meadow receive a broad, balanced and rewarding curriculum that gives them the skills and the means to excel in life and in their Education. The curriculum has been made in a way which will draw out and give priority to the most crucial aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum to give our children knowledge and the means to reach their full potential and independence.

The Trust

The Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP) is a Multi-Academy Trust which has experienced rapid growth since it started in 2016. There are currently 33schools in the Trust.

The Lighthouse Schools Partnership is cross-phase and includes Infant, Junior, Primary and Secondary schools. The Trust is a mixed MAT and includes both non-denominational and Church of England schools.
