We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateSEND Teaching Assistantto join our team at an esteemed educational institution in Salisbury This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment, assisting students with their daily needs and promoting their well-being and independence. The position is available to start in September 2025.

About the School:

The school is based close to Salisbury town centre for students aged from 4-16 years who have additional needs; mainly autism. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and use of indoor and outdoor spaces to expand students’ opportunities and experiences. The school place great value on staff well-being offer support and team building prospects. The school site also has free parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care and assistance to students with various emotional, and learning needs.
• Assist students with daily activities such as: core subject learning such as English and Math, encouraging independence, supporting communication and collaborative learning.
• Support students in participating in educational activities and lessons.
• Ensure students’ safety and comfort at all times.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other care professionals to create and implement individualised care plans.
• Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to the appropriate staff members.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an SEND teaching assistant or similar role (preferably within an educational or healthcare setting).
• A caring and patient approach to supporting students with special needs.
• A resilient and hardworking ethos.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with students, staff, and parents.
• An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
• A commitment to promoting the well-being and independence of students.
• An enhanced DBS check will be required (we will assist with this process if necessary).
