Job Details

Are you a recent graduate eager to gain experience in a warm and friendly primary school environment as a Learning Support Assistant? Whether you have prior experience working with young people or are considering teacher training, this role offers valuable classroom experience to support your career goals.

The successful candidate will support students with learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Salary and Location

• £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience
• Bristol, Bedminster – BS3, with onsite parking or accessible by public transport
• Outstanding Ofsted-rated primary school
• Long-term & full-time role until at least July 2025

Responsibilities

• Supporting students individually or in small groups as directed by the class teacher or SENCO
• Assisting with lesson planning and delivery tailored to students' needs
• Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
• Promoting positive behaviour and social interaction, managing challenging behaviour when necessary
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Graduate in psychology, criminology, or a relevant field, or possess a strong educational background with GCSEs in Maths and English plus prior SEN experience
• Good knowledge of the national curriculum and teaching strategies for SEND support
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively
• Positive, empathetic, patient attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressure
