Job summary

Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming school in the WF8 area of West Yorkshire, seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with additional learning needs and promote inclusive learning. The role is full-time and long-term, with a daily rate starting from 90 and hours 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, help deliver differentiated lessons, and support EHCP strategies, aiming to boost student engagement and wellbeing throughout the school

Responsibilities

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Area: WF8 (Pontefract, West Yorkshire)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Rate: From 90 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs, helping them remain engaged and confident in their learning.
    Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive relationships and wellbeing.
    Assist class teachers in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
    Help implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
    Encourage independence, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, care, or support setting.
    A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting learners with additional needs.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    A genuine passion for education and making a positive difference to children's lives.
    A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
    Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to apply for a new one.
    Provide two professional child-related references.
